Spoiler means 4inches less of an arc in boot travel for the cup, additional wind resistance and weight against the springs. Reckon I've got you licked Mine could launch a big child perhaps even a small adult HOLDING a small child

Photos on post 227 steve I made the washers myself from aluminium I made them using some spare hinges so I could make sure everything cleared the bottom washers have a taper to prevent them fouling the clip and the top ones are secured with a 3mm grub screw so they can be moved for getting the ideal tension I'm sorry to say but the springs are not strong enough to open my boot

You must have a very heavy boot then, all the other posts are saying that they are very pleased with the springs & that they work great, I have had mine fitted for about 5 weeks now and never failed to open

Or partially seized hinges!

Have you lubed the pivot points, as it's very strange that your's appears to be the only boot they won't open!

To be fair, he didn't buy a kit from me. He only wanted to purchase the springs and make the other bits himself
