MG ZT+ 160 1.8T - No MOT - spares or repair
MG ZT+ 160 1.8T
MkII '54' plate Ignition blue 94k miles No MOT No MOT - Selling as spares or repair Car recently failed it's MOT and will be too costly for me to sort. Also recently I've had difficulties getting the car into gear. Sometimes it was fine, other times it was difficult to select a gear, especially reverse. Results of recent MOT: Repair immediately (major defects): Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect (4.1.2 (c)) Offside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength outer sill (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Offside Front Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength inner sill (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Nearside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Parking brake efficiency below requirements (1.4.2 (a) (i)) Repair as soon as possible (minor defects): Windscreen damaged but not adversely affecting driver's view (3.2 (a) (i)) Offside Front Outer Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated (5.3.4 (b) (i)) Nearside Front Upper Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated (5.3.4 (b) (i)) Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement rear bush (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Nearside Front Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Offside Front Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Front Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (1.1.14 (a) (ii)) Rear Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (1.1.14 (a) (ii)) Front Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii)) Front Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i)) Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive subframe (5.3.6 (a) (i) I’m the 3rd owner, having purchased it on 26th January 2013 @ 66k miles. Car has all the usual Mark II (Facelift) “+” extras such as ATC dual zone climate control, electric rear windows, boot mounted “lip” spoiler and the 6 CD multi-changer in the boot, but in addition to this it's fitted with the optional extras: *Message centre highline instrument pack *Power-fold mirrors *Heated front seats. Bodywork is in good condition considering the age. The odd scrape here and there, but no major dents. All four 18" grid spoke alloy wheels were refurbished along with new bolts and centre caps on 21.9.12. There’s a receipt for £298.80 for this work. Obviously, this was a while ago, but wheels still in OK condition. Interior also is in good condition. It has blue door cards and half leather seats with blue stitching. The drivers bolster shows the usual wear. Also has the rare grey marble effect dash inserts and an upgraded Pioneer head unit with iPod & USB connectivity. Steering wheel controls work with this unit, but not since the battery was disconnected to carry out some maintenance. I’m sure this is easily fixable. Receipts present for new head gasket, water pump, inlet & exhaust gaskets, thermostat & housing and timing belt done in 2011. It has the orange clip fitted to the fuel filter housing and also fitted is a metal T piece on the coolant hose to replace the plastic one. When I bought the car in early 2013 there were stamps in the service book dated: 25.10.05 30.11.06 2.11.07 There is a gap in the documented service history in the book from November 2007 up to when I bought the car because the previous owner (a Rover/MG enthusiast) serviced it himself. Several receipts for oil, filters, brakes ect to back this up. In my ownership there are 2 service stamps in the book dated 11.8.13 and the most recent which was a full service carried out by Rover/MG specialist Terry of TS Autos on 26.10.14 @ 77,350 miles. In addition to the 2 services I've paid for, it's also had the following work carried out: * New starter motor fitted on 22.10.13 costing £168 * New track rod ends for the 2013 MOT * New rear handbrake shoes for the 2014 MOT * New (Payen) inlet manifold gasket fitted on 23.11.14 * New exhaust backbox and middle section fitted 7.5.15 costing £187 *2 new front tyres fitted 3.11.15 along with a Hunter lazer 4 wheel geometry inspection and alignment costing a combined £194.91 *2 more new front tyres fitted for the 2016 Mot (my year old tyres apparently both had cuts in them) * Oil change November 2017 (fully synthetic) * New drivers side rear tyre fitted January 2018 Engine is good. Uses no coolant or oil. Comes with 2 keys, service book and receipts for the work done. Bad Points: * Obviously no MOT * Aircon needs re-gassing * Cigarette lighter works, but has fallen into the centre console * Sometimes difficult to get into gear * Paint under drivers door flaked off * Leaky boot So it's a 14 year old car with no MOT that will need recovering from my drive. Pictures were taken earlier in the year. Car currently isn't as clean now. I've already bought a replacement so this has to go. Any viewing/inspection welcome. I'll take £250 for it. Thanks for looking. Last edited by Stevie Boy; 24th November 2018 at 18:52.. |
