whos life collapsed cos O2 was out of order?
Did anyone's life collapse yesterday with the mobile phone network O2
being so badly effected? I'm just waiting for the stories of people having to see their GP with stress due to no network or contacting the police some way to complain I appreciate there is a serious side (medical and those in danger) but setting those aside life carried on and the world kept turning macafee2 |

Didn't bother me as I was at home and the mobile is always connected to wifi, though I realise it would have impacted quite severely those that depend on it for their work especially small businesses.
Case in point: I normally use my mobile and google maps as a sat nav, though I have a back up installed for when out of mobile coverage etc using Magic Earth that doesn't need 3/4G to function as it has a downloadable map database. Jim |

It happened to coincide with me going out for a three hour walk and forgetting my mobile phone to satisfy myself with that thought "where were we before the mobile phone?" I am not on O2 but it turned out that my son's wife and daughter are, and they were trying to make arrangements for collection from college and going to a hospital appointment.
It will have woken a few people up to the fact of how much they rely on their phones. |

Only bother I had was any texts I sent showed as failed even though they were going through, more annoying than anything else. Only just back to normal about an hour ago.

As a non mobile phone user, and a devotee of Victor Meldrew, it was nice to be able to walk down our high street without constantly having to sidestep zombie like youths with their heads glued to phones. Good job mobiles were not in fashion when dog fouling was endemic.

If you read some of the stories, life nearly ended for many people as they were unable to google and text their friends.
