That is disgusting. One of my good friends is German and she's hardly stopped crying since the result. She's lived here over 20 years and still isn't allowed to vote...even though she has 2 British children. Overnight every immigrant will feel ostracised. It's a sad day.

Here are the rules Anna.
Same for us living abroad.

Same rules in a referendum so I believe.

It's a pity she is so upset but no one will be chucked out of the UK with no just reason, if she has children and has been here that long can she not apply for British citizenship?

She's married to a Brit and has been for a long time but she's taken it personally, whether she's right or wrong to have done doesn't matter, it's the way she feels.

That's an interesting point that hasn't been raised before. There seems to be a general assumption that 'German' means 'Germany' and 'French' means 'France' and so on across Europe. Well, it doesn't. To personalise this in this way is to flirt with racism.

Your friend should be brought up to date and helped to understand that just like other countries there is always an element of 'lower order Neanderthals' in every country but in this case it's not against Germans, French(ies!) or Italians, it's about the combined EU government edifice only! I'm sure there is absolutely no need for any nationality to feel personably vulnerable.

No problem with anyone who is LEGALLY in this country - never has been and never will be. This is just about slowing the rate of increase in our population on an ever overcrowded island. Remember, many immigrants were in the LEAVE camp!

Sadly there will always be Neanderthal, racist individuals in any society who need to be put up against a wall and shot.

All of the Polish I know are hard working and pay their contributions, unlike many of the sick, lame and lazy Brit's that I know

My Stepmum is German, has lived in the UK for a very long time, previously married to a Brit too.

She was able to vote ?.

And she chose to Vote out as well !
