Bringing back from hibernation
Due to a hip replacement,a kidney infection and covid, my car has not moved for well over 15 months.
Went to start it yesterday and got the click click of the starter motor, even though the battery (new) is fully charged. I have another starter from a 2.5 V6 auto. Would that fit my 2.5 V6 manual ? If not,is there a repair kit for these ?. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Auto starter wont fit a manual, do the headlights flash when trying to start if so it's the battery, of not check starter connectors you can get a repair kit off Ebay if required

As the car has been laid up for so long possible there's corrosion on the contacts. Try cleaning them with fine wet/dry before shelling out for a repair kit.

If you have a charger Basil, I would connect it across your new battery. There's no guarantee that the battery is 100% if it's been on the warehouse shelf for a while.
