Default alarm misfunction

On the weekend the alarm went off while the car was parked. Luckily I was close by and was able to stop the alarm by opening the doors with the key fob.
However after relocking the car the alarm went off again after a few minutes. this time I left the car unlocked. Later when I started the car there was an error message saying doors open, but they weren't.
As a temporary solution I removed the sounder fuse (No 31)
I would appreciate some advice before taking her to the garage.
Regards
John

The bonnet switch has been known to cause this especially if it has had a good soaking ( car washes )

Morning, the usual suspect is the bonnet switch. Could be the bonnet is sitting just a little too high. Try adjusting the rubber stops. Are you sure the symbol doesn't refer to the bonnet? :xmas-smiley-005:

Ha ha Trikey, you is on da ball. OP is more likely to believe me though when he sees my sig pic

Hello and best wishes from the Antipodes.
Last weekend my alarm went off for no reason. Luckily I was nearby, I unlocked the car to turn it off then re-locked the car but a few minutes the same happened again so left the car unlocked. Later when driving home the door open message came up. Checked all doors, all were OK.
Next day I removed fuse 31 so I can now lock the car with the remote and no more false alarms but of course no alarm if someone decides to break in.
Advice would be appreciated before trusting it to the garage.

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely the open door message and not the bonnet or boot.

As said by "trikey" the bonnet swith when wet could be cause.
After I have come from car wash (hand with power spray) and get home to lock car, I get the bip of alarm when everything is locked, it has not triggered the main alarm though.
I would check that all doors close correctly.
Ken.
