That's the one. Stripped back to the veneer the grain is so much better IMVHO The lacquer spoils the grain & as Brian says no rattles & a better fit

Wow! The grain on the air bag section really "pops". Would love to see it "in the flesh" one day. Very nice indeed.

The "eye brow" took a couple of attempts to get right but had to be done as the plastic looked so cheap & nasty after the dash was fitted Gold letters from Hobbycraft for the Airbag & job done Regards Paul

wood v plastic
Thanks for the amazing replies.
Next question. Was there a difference between the Cowley and Longbridge factory cars? Someone here has suggested that only the Cowley cars had real wood trim. John

Don't think it was strictly a Cowley/Longbridge thing The plastic came in as part of Project Drive, which, as far as I am aware was implemented at Longbridge but after the cars had started to be built there.

As far as i'm aware there is little difference between Cowley built and ppd longbridge cars with the notable exception that predominantly Cowleys have black sills whereas Longbridge cars have colour coded sills.
