Here you go:

Thermostat how to

It is simple, I have done it to mine and there is a world of difference in how much quicker it heats up.

If you buy the Gates thermostat you don't have to grind it down, also Mat at DMGRS sells everything you need ... if you need.

I got this one in now:

Ebay thermo

Tight fit but a little washing up liquid and heating the hose with boiling water lets it slide in easy enough.

I'm just about to do mine, kit just ordered. DMRGS kit comes with a large jubilee clip to clamp around new stat when it's inside the pipe.

at bottom of page is a link to youtube video.

It fits in the rear (smaller) end of the hose. I believe there's 1/4" difference between each end.

Yes gates is the one to get, these are fitted regular at the nano meets, I use red rubber grease to insert the stat into the hose works great, I am sure I did a recent how to again on this, if not I will try and sort one out over the next couple of days.

Did this on mine a month ago with the help and advice of all the guru's here, must say ... it's the best mod especially this time of year.
I used the 'Gates' item.
Really easy job tbh, had mine done in under 25 minutes, the car is fully up to temp now within a couple of miles, and now returns an extra 25mpg! haha. (I wished).
