Graham, would appreciate a call. 562 8321.

Hi John,

Do you change your own trans fluid? What have you used?

Hi Roger, No, not brave enough to attempt auto trans oil change. Following a conversation with fellow wellingtonian, Graham, I will get it done by a local garage with the necessary equipment to pump out most of the old fluid. Graham also suggested a Castrol product meets the required ATF rating. As Jaguar also use the Jatco box I will check to see what the local jag agent uses.
Cheers
John

Default 75 servicing

Hi you fellow Wellington 75/ZT owners. Can anyone recommend somewhere local for servicing (the cambelt change is due on my 75 2.5 V6 Tourer)?

welcome to the mysteries of rover 75 ownership.
I have used Amsterdam Cars in Lower Hutt. My car is coming up to 100,000 kms and is therefore due for a cam belt, idler, water pump etc changeover. I bought all the parts from Rimmers when I was in the UK last August. Get a few firm quotes before committing to any one garage. Harbour City in Lower Hutt were also recommended, more than could be said for Harbour City in Wellington. They charged a friend $4200. All up including parts and labour the cost should be around $2000. They reckon it takes about 8 hours.

Mrs Yellow Peril and I were very suprised to see a Primrose Yellow 75 when we were on our holidays over there in 2005 near Queenstown. Owning a Primrose Yellow 75 ourselves we were keen to talk to the owner, but he gave us the slip near Arrowtown. Anyone over there know the car/owner or seen it around lately?

Best fun was hammering down 90 mile beach on a beautiful sunny day in October, in our hired Hyundai - with the windows open - avoiding the sunken cars, Breathtaking.

We'd be back there in a flash if circumstances permitted

Best Wishes

Andrew

In all the time I lived in Chch I can't remember seeing one 75, maybe I should have spent less time in Bailies Bar (Warners Hotel). Paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry, I've not looked in this thread for ages. Yes, you're right, there are very few to be seen. I regularly see a silver pre-facelift one about (who does not return my waves unfortunately) but few others. There were a few sold her, including 2 MG 260 V8's but I've never seen them on the road.
I'd love to arrange a meet for later this year, so plan to do something about that.

I forgot to ask, when were you here and where did you live? I like that bar too, but don't get to see the inside of it much!
