Default Traction control

Greetings from down under. Car refused to start after a short drive today. The TC warning light was on continuously and could not be switched off.
Finally got her started before the AA turned up. Is there a link between the starting problem and the TC warning light?

Doubt the TC would affect starting. If it failed to start when warm it could be a faulty cam sensor.

Thanks for your prompt replies. Obviously it was a coincidence that the TC warning light came on at the same time as the starting problem. The car is an auto. Fortunately the problem has not repeated itself. However something is not quite right, starting has never been a problem up to now.

Just a thought, isn't one of the ways that the traction control can intervene is to send a message to the ECU to alter timing or something like that?? Could that be the link here??
