slow learner
Set off on Monday for a couple of days down country.
Twenty kms from home on the motorway noticed the temp guage at twelve o'clock and the red light on. ****. Back to the local agent in Auckland on the back of a transporter. Pressure test for possible leak - nothing. Had had a coolant change a month ago and had only done short runs of late. All agreed that the operative had probably trapped an air lock in cooling system during refill. No charge. The possibility of this happening if I had done the service was why I had taken the car in initially. Anyway everything's back to normal now. The reason I tell you this is to illustrate that some good things can happen out of adversity. When driving away from the service centre I noticed an 'error' posted in the trip recorder. I was driving so the navigator (captain?) looked up the drivers handbook. Troubleshooting involved pressing a button on the end of the indicator stalk I was told. Button? what button? To cut a long story short I have now discovered that my 180 Sport has a trip computer. Wow - and I've only owned the car four years this Christmas. Cheers to all Barry Last edited by Simon; 8th October 2008 at 10:07.. Reason: Swear filter |
