That is possible, but would be extremely unusual. If you can find a way of counting how many wires enter the motor housing, the 3 speed has four and the 2 speed with resistor only two. Its ok ordered a fan and resistor from RS components and ebay respectivly, going to make the harness myself. £31 all in (already have high ampage wire and heat shrink).
