30mpg
Very impressed with her as a towing car. 30mpg from a marina special. Barely felt the van on the back.

I wouldn't even trust the mpg readout on the car. Fill it to the top from near empty, fill it up again and measure the mileage covered with 2 full tanks and that should be a better idea of your cars output

Assuming it's a manual gearbox and not a massive 'van, low thirties is about right for the diesel. I'd say it was very good if it was an auto!

Caravan totalled by a shunt on way home so got 40mpg without it on way home. Thankfully the tow car survived without damage. Nobody hurt so not the end of the world.

A car about 4 ahead held up traffic to turn into a layby everyone stopped and about a second after I stopped a Mitsubishi pickup ran into the back of the caravan. Thankfully as it has a high ground clearance it missed the floor and the caravan body absorbed the impact. It's in one piece but will be written off as the sides are bowed out and internal fittings are mashed plus the floor detached from the body at the back. The Mitsubishi on the other hand cracked his number plate.
Lisa and kids didn't even realise what it was.
