Our 3 bedroom semi was converted to gas in the early 70s and although technically a central heating system it comprised of only 2 radiators, one downstairs and one upstairs, and a fire/back boiler in the lounge. In the mid 80s we had that system replaced and we also added extra radiators to cover each bedroom. Both of those installs were done by well-known local companies operating out of advertised premises but neither saw fit to lag any of the pipes - too much time money and bother I guess for those who have no pride in their work.
