Roof rails rubber covers
Hi!
I bought recently a MG ZT-T and I need some help. My rubber covers for the roof rails are destroyed, anyone knows where can I get them? Thanks |

They are made of substandard rubber! They disintegrate. I had some original rubber mats for the boot of my tourer as well. Also substandard and although looking good and solid, they are really not up to it.
On my motor bikes, the same thing. My Italian bikes are full of small rubber parts that crack, perish, disintegrate and self compost! My Suzuki Katana, although 40 years old, all rubbers are intact! Just goes to show. Long term, there is nothing to beat a Japanese product. I am not sure if this is valid across the line, but I have a feeling it is. I have resigned myself to the fact that the rubbers on the rails are gone. You could fill the holes with silicone. Maybe put a piece of plastic film in first to line the cavity, and then just fill with a black silicone. You would then be able to pull this "plug" out, in future, should you need to get to the bolts behind. I would consider this as a functioning repair.

They are oblong, much bigger and sit like a flap in 3? places on each rail. they are like a little "door" that hide the fastening bolts for the rails. And they are useless now! If anything is left of them!
