Today I watched the rain soak my car from the rather dry living room.
However, this week I’ve managed to break into my stuck bonnet and replace the battery.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get back out there and sort a final couple of niggles out.

Diesel CDTi nothing under oil filler cap so hoping it's just a cap that's gone faulty.
Just a quick report back, changed expansion cap 10 days ago. Over 300 miles since including M54 & M6 yesterday, pleased to say that coolant level is still floating on max. Obviously a faulty cap!

Nothing to the car as such today, but booked the MOT yesterday for Friday 2nd December. Also planning to get the gold resistor fitted and an engine service at the same time. Not expecting too many issues with the MOT although you never can tell. Whatever it needs though will get done.

Today I finally got around to spraying some cavity wax into the pipe under the rear seats of my tourer from the offside rear wheel arch and then blocked up the hole with some of that black butyl tape. It's all I had to hand and hopefully that will stop it ever rusting. I also took off the metal plate which covers the wires behind the wheel and that was full of dirt so I cleaned it out and sprayed it with cavity wax as well. I sheared one thread but thankfully the rest were all right so I replaced the nuts and cushioned the sheared one with some more of the butyl stuff which has made it nice and tight still.

Not much but took the car cover off and had to take a towel to the inside of the windscreen as it was dripping wet and the dash was covered in mould!! Now just waiting to get my welding gear for Xmas then will be attacking the corrosion underneath!

Default Bonnet open tool

While tiding the shed out today or reorganising it really, i came across a bracket from Wikes, so i decided to make a tool to help open the bonnet if one of the cables failed.

1

The handle i also found in one of the mixed item bins

You can slide it in the slight gap.
2

It then will rest on the pin between the coil spring.
3

If you then push it inwards the pin will go backwards, in turn it then pushes the half-moon in, and the bonnet should come up.

First post here. I bought an MG ZT-T 3 days ago and it was a bit moist. Sunroof drains we're the culprit. Now fixed. Plenum drain was also semi blocked. I've not managed to get to the one on the brake servo side yet.
