Maximum Range with 2.5 V6
Filled my ZT to the brim in Friday for a long motorway run yesterday, cost £72.00! Decided to keep the speed down to around 70mph from the usual 85 ish and have so far managed 410 miles with around 1/8th of a tank left. Just wondering how far other people have managed to travel on a tank full? Tim

Thats interesting!
Not had my ZT on a long run like that for a while so I've forgotton. But come the end of the month got an 1100 mile round trip to do, not in any hurry so will be keeping my speed down.

You've done well to get so far, I recon 456 would be max (38mpg)

Best I have ever had is 29.7 that's feathering the throttle and keeping under 65 on main roads. I think it possible to show 32 but only if a 300 mile trip on motorway at under 65, almost impossible as there is bound to be the odd car or lorry to overtake safely.

I managed almost 370 town miles in my 1.8 T...Usually I get around 300 ish however I have been driving as if the Queen was in the back seat whilst giving the royal finger to a Steve Martin look alike with black eyebrows.
Cheers Tony

The final milage for my tank full ended up at 431.01 miles. Didn't have quite as much fuel left as i thought as my car is parked on a sloping drive! Anyway, this figure is 90 miles more than i've ever managed before.

I was expecting JDC to be on by now promoting the diesel Range
Seriously though the V6 range would be even more at say a boring 60MPH ! Has anyone worked out the actual optimum speed for petrols or diesels for MAX MPG?

AFAIK the vast majority of manufacturers ensure that optimum mpg is at 56.4mph. Not sure why and it may have changed, but that's what it used to be.
