Default Radio Interference Query (Jeff ?)

Just installed a new system in one of my ZTs, but this problem was also happening with the oem system before.

On AM radio, the usual interference etc, it's a lot worse than on my other ZT.

Interestingly, if I touch/press the brake pedal the noise subsides to almost nothing. I get the same effect if I turn on the car lights as well.

Any ideas please?

Try running another earth from the case of the radio to a known good earthing point on the car body .

See if that makes any difference

That was tried before but made no noticeable difference, but will get that re-checked to be doubly sure.
Everything was checked and identical to the other ZTs - only difference this car has an earthing strap? going up one of the bonnet struts....

I recently noticed that I was getting excessive interference on the radio, turns out that the USB socket I had wired in to an ignition live is on the same circuit as the radio ignition live, all fine, until I plugged in the dash cam....

Will be a simple fix.......... next time the radio is removed
