Thank you, I will try that password and see if I can get into the factory settings menu.

Thanks for the password suggestions,
I have tried them all and unfortunately still can't get into the factory settings menu.
Incidentally the stereo will only accept passwords of up to four digits.
I've now sent an email to Erisin support requesting the password, hopefully I will get a sensible reply - fingers crossed!

Good luck mate. I took a deep breath and decided to cut my losses - it's all packed up in its box, ready to go back, and my trusty Sony stereo is back in its (smaller) hole.

I'll be following your progress with great interest (and some optimism!) though

Thanks, and good luck with your return,
do you know if they will be bothered by the cutting off its side mounting tabs? (I assume you cut them off to fit it in the first place).

Born out of LOOOOONG experience with such people, I acted all innocent and said "Oh my goodness, it doesn't fit", whereupon they suggested I cut them off. I said OK, as long as it doesn't affect the warranty, and they agreed

Don't give up though - I don't think your experience is like mine. Pretty sure mine had an actual fault (as opposed to bugs and annoyances), as the display and buttons flickered constantly when the car's lights were on. If it hadn't been for that, I'd probably have persevered with the project, but after a month of trying to sort it all out, I'd just had enough.

I'm sure they'll fix the problem with updating the firmware - it'll be affecting a lot of people

Default SWC update.

Quick update on SWC issues with my Erisin unit;
Received a reply from Erisin UK within hours stating they didn’t recognise my email or name.
I sent email back straight away saying the unit was bought through an EBay trader.
Erisin reply next day asking for EBay username and order number.
Email returned giving requested information.
Email received giving factory menu password which worked perfectly, unfortunately I couldn’t find Canbus settings for Rover 75 or MG ZT/ZT-T in the very long menu.
Sent Email stating that I couldn’t find correct settings for my vehicle.
Received Email same day stating Canbus code should be changed to Null(0) for Rover 75 or MG ZT/ZT-T.
Set the Canbus code to Null(0) and after a reboot found there was no Canbus connectivity at all (reset Canbus code to 274 - which is what it was originally set at).
Sent another Email to Erisin today advising setting the Canbus code to Null(0) didn’t get the result I wanted.
Now waiting for their reply - will update once I’ve made some progress (or not!).
Paul.

Fairly sure you can switch off the handbrake function in the settings.

When you talk about Canbus I'm not sure I understand.
Do you mean SWC settings?
Because with my Erisin I haven't to make a faff with the adaptation to my 75: it worked at once but 2 wires which need to be added first.
And I didn't have to put any code anywhere.

Regarding the SWC: you need first to activate the table by clicking on an optional radio button. I've already told you so.
It's likely the reason why you can't see any table to program the buttons. When it's activated then it should appear somewhere in the menu.
I'll try to take some pictures for you in the morning.
