You can easily add a digi box plus it plays DVDs with surround sound.
If your still mad on fitting the system you will need all the loom and the brackets plus the rear window elements are different on a Hi line car and is used as the aerial for the sat nav.
I suppose I'm better off just buying a Highline equipped car instead then?

It can be done but honestly you have to remove loads of trim etc and its a 20 year old system.
If your set on Hi line personally yes buy a car with it fitted. Its all down to choice.

I have an early car and fitting a high line system into it. I do have all the loom. Everything. The interesting think is the bit that needs soldering to the rear window. I guess just like a 75 tourer. Now would I need a different rear window or should there be an area to solder it too?

Are the rear windows are the same, just missing the terminals to connect the aerials? If so just use conductive glue to stick the connectors on to the metal coating on the glass.

Somewhere on the forum someone has done this. As I recall they attached to the existing window, I think they soldered it.

That last bit isn't correct Sean. The sat. nav. antenna isn't part of the rear window. It's a separate unit somewhere underneath the rear parcel shelf (I've never seen mine!).

No they're not but if you're only interested in having high-line sat. nav. the rear screen won't matter.

I'd be very interested in this too. Ideally the HiLine HU with the buttons and screen all functioning as usual, but inside it's all current tech to provide DAB, Bluetooth TV, SatNav and phone (a working phone button at last!) without the additional wiring and boxes scattered around the car.

I also want to box in the door speakers and upgrade them all round as the sound was never much good and is noticeably poor with age.
