Jake, I don't need a complete system but would be interested in the SatNav unit if Martin doesn't want it - he should get first call.

Bob

Hi Bob, thanks for posting your findings there was a point when I was questioning did it really happen? it would seem you had two faults when you had no display, as you say the second failure gave you a real headache.

Hi,this is my case,I have disconnected the Sat nav several times for peace of mind when the car was not being used for several days and the display and functions still worked when I used it and not bothered to connect the Sat nav back in.Mine is an 02 saloon with the original Hi Line.Regards Ry....

Thanks, Jake. My HI-Line Head Unit is fully operational, I believe - I bought in new (old stock) about six months ago (at the outrageous price of £139 + P&P!) from a reputable MG Rover specialist and have no reason to suspect it. The problem must lie elsewhere.

Interesting: It works for Dave & Ryszard's Saloons but not for Martin's and my Tourers. Maybe there's a difference in the video module that was fitted.

After a quick search on here there are posts of tourers that have the back up graphics in the tuner and I am not aware of there being a different unit fitted to them. It is possible that the back up display has failed sometime in the past but you would never know would you?
