Default navall star satnav + steering wheel controls + dimmer

Hi,
recently bought this and its great but having some difficulty setting it up.

I put the satnav micro sd card in the slot and when it loads I get a message along the lines of incorrect folder and the path has the words 'licence' at the end. Does that mean the satnav is not in licence? I am in republic of ireland and bought the unit from a member based in england. Could that be the issue?

My steering wheel has both audio and cruise switches fitted.
How do I connect these to the stereo?

Finally, when I put headlights on and alter the dashboard dimmer, the control knobs on the navall star go dim/brighter etc but the screen itself goes brighter when the dashboard dimmer switch is set to minimum??

It was like this when the original navall 2 was fitted too.

Can anybody assist with this?
thanks
Ian

The app is looking for the maps on the flash storage of the unit. You can change that in the settings IIRC (atleast for my old NavAll1 that was the place to look).

If you do a search on here you will probably find the solution.

Look here for example: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=258016 post 2 and three might help

Trying to access satnav. It seems to be reading card but comes up with this.
Missing or incomplete folder.

Sounds similar to my recent issues with my Xtrons Android unit in some posts below. Big problems getting the programs from the Micro SD card which had to be moved to the device's flash memory to work.

Still find the satnav signal takes 30 secs or more to wake up, unlike my earlier Win unit which was immediately there.

Been a few weeks now but I believe I had to splice in the steering wheel controls to a black minus lead and one which said Key1.

Don't think the cruise control switches have anything to do with the headunit.

Regards

I have fixed the steering wheel control issue. The orange/black lead that is connected in the red connector had been cut? So re-connected and now working.

Still working on the sat nav.

As for the screen dimming the wrong way around. Can that be bodged somehow?

Ive decided to give up on the sat nav. Instead I'm using my phone as a hotspot and then running google maps navigator. works really well.

I’m gradually coming over to this idea as well as the Navall Star unit I have is extremely unreliable regarding it being able to “find a satellite” - I get really fed up with being told “Satellite Signal Lost” ....

Also Google maps is far superior as it feeds back congestion info and route alternatives.

Downloaded Amazon Music today, using hotspot from phone, I now have access to all the music I could need.

I set it up as default when pressing the NAV button too, so accessible from one button. This can easily be changed back to google maps if required.
