I'd also tend to suspect the video unit as well and where's the CD changer.

I take it the seller didn't advise you of the faulty set-up and missing units

Right then, I have just been out and put the blue and the white block thing's in that silver box, plus the 2 black wires.

Went in the car and the screen came on.

It gave me the menu which did work.

The only thing that didnt was the tv.

Oh and no music, radio etc

BUT the silver box thing in the boot was quite noisey, even when the ignition was off with no key in her??

So i disconected it all again in case it flats the battery as it didnt seem to turn off

I have no idea what i'm doing or what these bits are, so a huge learning curve

Also please excuse my dialog as no idea what they are

Gosh, that was a BIG leak - it's washed the modules right out of the boot .

As Reebs has said, you need the tuner module, satnav computer, and maybe a TV module to see if the loom is functional. It's got HK as well, so the amplifier may alo be goosed .

It's not working because there is nothing left to work! I have modules which would plug in to try so let me know if you want to go down that route.

Ok stop right there and read this

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...read.php?t=109

Ok as you don't have a sat nav drive you maybe OK

Its good you here noise from the silver box thats the video box which gives you a screen hahahaha you can here the fan working and it stays on for a little time after you take the key out it also kicks in when you open a door ,

So you need a

Radio modum
sat nav drive

Jeremy, that is very kind of you

I would of course cover costs for petrol and time

She is going for her MOT tomorrow so she will be back with me from Wednesday.

She has to stay on my drive for now due to TAX and MOT, so if you was sure you wouldnt mind coming over

He's a gent is Jezzer The video module sounds like it is fine, if it generates a menu screen and the fan can be heard running (especially after ignition off).

The Radio and CD will not produce sound until a tuner unit is connected, the sat nav can be absent, as the video module (the box you do have) will create a standby menu screen which looks like an old ZX Spectrum computer display.

My guess is that the old nav computer got fried from water damage, and wouldn't shut down leading to battery drain. That would account for the missing unit, and I dare say that whoever did it, just grasped at straws and ripped out all the connectors and the radio tuner box too for good measure.

If Jeremy will attend with his substitute units, you'll be able to see if the cabling and connectors are all still viable at least, then it's just a case of getting replacements from forum traders or ebay.

BTW you need a Mark 3 Navigation Computer when the time comes, not the earlier Mark 2 version
