Default Power sounder.

Just to make sure before I blow my eardrums out !!! Does the 75 have a power sounder that's likely to go off when I disconnect the battery ??

If so, what's the procedure to disarm ... and do these ( like some other marques power sounders) have a tendenct to self combust when getting past their useful life ??

I think you are referring to the BBUS, which was optional (perhaps standard on some models, not sure).

It will go off if you disconnect the battery with the alarm armed. To prevent this, ensure the car is unlocked before disconnecting the battery. Simple

Not sure about self-combusting, though, sounds like an extreme anti-theft measure. Not sure what insurance companies think about this.

Some models are fitted with an alarm sounder which has its own battery. It should not be triggered by your disconnecting the main car battery, though I understand tampering with the sounder can trigger it.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Used to have an Omega Elite -- power sounders on those are renowned for bursting into flames when the internal battery corrodes ( and have been known to take the whole car with them !! )--- which is why most Omega owners remove the unit !!

Yikes.... our cars have a BMW unit, perhaps google to see if they have a similar problem, not heard of suchlike.

You may only have an alarm horn though, rather than power sounder (BBUS).
