I considered doing this on my 75 cdti auto,but couldn't get any info on damping rates,so opted for KYB shocks and springs.if you get 1.8 struts from Rimmer's you will be changing the springs anyway so the price is not that different,the jobs the same,be aware that the bolt clamping the strut to the hub if it's never been out could be seized and may snap,lots of heat and descent sockets are a big help
