Default alpine head unit

Hi,
bit of a strange one this ..but read on , i have 3 alpine head units, which at the time i didnt have any codes for, i paid a guy on ebay , who sorted the codes for the radio's, but because i want to sell these on ebay, i first wanted to check that the codes work on all the radios as to not dissapoint the buyer, this i tried on a donor car, the strange thing is ,when the ignition was turned on and the radio turned on ,,,no code was needed? the radio played !! just wondering if any of the good people here has any explanation?
and did i pay a guy for codes that i didnt need in the first place !

further info that may help.
the donor car had a totaly flat battery and needed a boost to get the ignition to light up.
i tried 2 of the radios with the same result
sorry i dont know thw proper name for the radio, but its the deep one with the bigger screen and the phone socket and button,to mute the radio.
any help would be great .
cheers Mavrik2k6

The Symphony hu's (which is what you have) were not all code activated at the factory. They all have a code built in but unless activated you don't need them.

That member was me

I'm currently watching an auction on ebay for a Symphony headunit, but if that auction falls through then I'd certainly be interested if you have one up for grabs. PM me with your asking price and if I like it I'll buy one from you instead...
