Wind will be an enemy in maintaining a greenhouse. Panes can be blown out if it gets inside so a means of securing the door to mitigate against it could pay dividends and it might also act as a deterrent to those who seek to enter it with malicious intent. Some may laugh but feral youths will not be the only concern should you migrate in to competitive growing, as my late father found out with his show leeks and cucumbers.

Though I suppose polly might tick some boxes as opposed to horticultural glass but any discussion about it is verboten.

Afternoon all, the winds have died down slightly and the showers seem to have stopped too.
Got the rubbish picked up & wheelie bins out of the winds.

Cod in a parsley/butter sauce mashed spuds cabbage & swede/carrot mash for tea.

There is a slight mark on the conservatory roof where the roof tile struck it but it hasn't damaged/punctured it thank heavens.

I've been checking all the clips on the panes & all seems well, one or two were a bit loose so I replaced the clips with new stiffer ones. I've got the sliding door back working OK again, thankfully it's come through unscathed since I bolted it down to the flags.

Yes you're right!, I was looking on ebay the other day at locks/clasps for the greenhouse because we have more than our fair share of deadbeats around here unfortunately
the local allotments get a lot damage in the growing season with those idiots.

The winds have finally abated here now, I might get a full nights sleep tonight.
Castle class down the Riviera line, spent 60 minutes on the scenario run & scored nowt, nil pois for lateness & wheel slip

Hi Steve, yes they all know me and today I was let off paying the 300 quid as the repeat test was down to a mistake they had made. There was no fuss about it and they only charged me for the appointment to see the doctor today. The upshot is, I am to use a special breathing device at night to keep me breathing.

I reflected on your post traumatic chronic headache and it is quite a problem for sufferers whose headache does not clear up after 3 months. I looked at your locality and you might want to consider getting a referral to a neurologist to reassess and treat you properly. Here is a link which you might find helpful https://apps.nhslothian.scot/refhelp...Neurology.aspx
There are alternatives to knock out pills. A neurologist is the best specialist to discuss the treatment options with you. Whatever you decide, I hope you feel better soon.

That could prove useful!

Its not a headache Phil, just trouble sleeping which is a known post concussion problem. There's no hard and fast schedule as to how long it lasts etc, lasts as long as it lasts. I spoke to one of the GPs in the practice, sending a prescription for amitriptyline to the chemist. I was given them when I had big problems with my shoulder, didn't help with the shoulder but did make me sleep

When I started on the railway there was a driver restricted to shed duties and someone with him because he had narcolepsy, would fall asleep at the drop of a hat. He could fall asleep in the middle of a sentence, wake up 15-20 minutes later and carry on where he left off!
