I fixed a thing
So, took the green one for a little run around the block & it reminded me that the indicator was playing up. Mentioned this a couple of weeks ago & the good folk on here suggested taking off the stalk & cleaning the contacts. Easy peasy, or so I thought Took the stalk off, removed the back, cleaned the contacts & reassmbled Put it back on the car and..................right indicator constantly flashing
Back off, stripped down again, one of the slider things had come adrift. Tried to put it back, then little white clips & springs started flying about Could I get it all back together? Could I heck as like Walked away to calm down, then, a brainwave I've got a spare which I took off my car when I fitted message centre So, took it apart to see how things fitted. With both side by side, I eventually persuaded the bits back together, refitted to the car, & hey presto working indicators again |

When you dismantle something there's nothing more entertaining than trying to find the small but vital spring that ricocheted across the room

Well done, I had a spring fly off into the flower bed many years ago when I first had a Land Rover & I didn't really know what it looked like. Fortunately after about 1/2 hr searching I found it. Why I didn't think of a magnet , I don't know.

Had the mirror switch apart on the Freelander the other day as the powerfold operation was hit and miss.
Clicked the inner nylon hub out and lo and behold it and the spring behind it flew across the garage. Luckily found both bits and got it all back together and working. |
