You won't need to update any game. Some updates may be available to download, mostly at a cost, such as extra levels or weapons egg but you don't need them to play the game as it was originally supplied. I've 2 boys, the arguments this has caused! Apparently I'm daft not to see the benefit of spending £X real on another make believe gun which must be better than the one already in the game.

Another option may be to use you mobile phone ( depending on type and data plan ) as a mobile hotspot to connect the xbox and download any updates

If you do this i would check on your data allowance first or it could cost a few quid

These games only know there is an update required when it connects to the server. As you won't be online it is not an issue.
