I did what I've done for the last three weeks, look admiringly at my Connie and think why did you blow a power steering hose just before your MOT and why is it I can't find a replacement part.

Was helping out a mate to fix his MGF's blowing exhaust. A stud had sheered its thread in the block which resulted in poor seal and gasses blowing out
Had to re-thread the block and put an oversized stud

Not ZT but hopefully others will enjoy...
Nothing with my ZT (yet) but took one of my toys out to the White Lion Antiques breakfast meet.
Its a Reliant Scimitar with a 3.5l Rover V8 & 5-speed 'box (plus dubious bodywork modifications) Passed its MoT for the first time in years last week Furthest its gone (~10 miles), under it's own steam, in all that time so the shock made it a bit incontinent Last edited by brickie501; 24th August 2014 at 16:33.. |

Brake fluid change with the assistance of SWMBO. One of the most straightforward jobs of the weekend.
Have a squealing which i was attempting to fix yesterday.(no not SWMBO this time lol).....the auxiliary belt is skimming over the compressor but when I turn the crankshaft manually it moves. Checked the tensioner and it seems weak but didn't have the 3/8" square bar to move it . Ran out of time to remove it and examine the effectiveness or would I know what or how to check it ? Presumably spring loaded but are they needing replacement after a certain time. Aux belt has rover written on it so wondering was it ever changed? |
