Default 39th Yorkshire Classic Motor Show - 29 May 2023

Just a word of thanks to Mick Brownhill for organising the club's attendance at this event and sorting out the prizes. It was a really good day, with some nice cars, and even nicer members.

Also a word of thanks to Ched/Dave who sadly couldn't attend on the day, but helped by allowing me to use his booked place... Send your payment details please and I'll refund you.

Great see everyone again, what would be good is to arrange the cars so we have a sort of communal area where we can sit as one group and put the world to rights. Something to think about for future meets

Good idea. I will get on it for next year. Just need more space. Actually, it would be good for all the meets.

Default Yorkshire show 2023

I gave trophy to wrong member

Great photos though.

For next year I will try for a larger area but it may depend on number of cars.

I also think this venue should be the regional annual car show. What do others think?

Next show is Chatsworth. This is a new venue for the organisers. To view the gardens and house is additional cost but if enough want to view I can ask for a cheaper rate.

Cheers
Mick

It was great to see a good showing of 75's and i think the number of 75's attending was up on last year. I was disappointed not to have been able to join you this year but well done to Mick for promoting and generating interest. Apologies to those members i never got to speak to but there was a lot i didn't get to see. Its amazing how quick the time goes when you have a couple of good conversations. That's what its about though the social interaction. It does seem to be a friendly venue with most people willing to talk. There were a few who didn't seem to want to talk about their cars and i cant understand why they bother going. Personally i prefer Ripon racecourse. I can't say i have been very impressed with the land. I have attended 2 rallies at Ripley now but cant say i like the venue. The grass could have done with been cut and it wasn't easy to tell what you were driving across which for the 75 isn't too much of a problem but i wasn't able to take my 75 this year and the car i came in was lower to the ground and due to the undulations i had a concern not to do any damage to the underneath. i wasn't very impressed. Had the grass been wet you would have needed wellies. The simple answer is go in a 75. However it was a well attended venue with a good variety of vehicles and equally i acknowledge no venue will ever be perfect. Despite everything i have said i would not let it put me off attending again but it is not my preferred venue.
