Default Water pump

My car's cooling system has a leak which has now been diagnosed as failure of the water pump. I have been quoted a price of "approximately" £500 for supply and fitting of a replacement, including a new set of cam-belts which will be fitted at the same time (they are overdue for replacement anyway). Can anyone tell me whether this is a reasonable price, please?

Sounds like a good price to me. When my water pump failed they charged @£500 just for the pump. Wanted £800 to do belts as well!!

Charles, contact Andy Willi on here. He can do the whole job for you and you can rest assured it's done right.

Thanks for the replies, and also to those who sent PMs. The consensus seems to be that the estimate I have been given is good, but I have sent a PM to Andy Willi anyway, as two people have suggested it.

my advise would be (do not agree to an estimate) got a firm price writted down on headed paper, there is a lot of people ready to rip you off and by giving an estimate that means at the end of the job the price can rocket, in my opinion £500 for doing the 3 belts and water pump (good quality ones) is to cheap
