I agree rimmers are an absolute joke but where else can we buy new genuine parts for our cars ?? luckily there are lots of cars being broken enabling us to keep our cars on the road

Just bear in mind that they will be supplying parts for our cars long after the Motor Factors deem them uneconomic to stock!
You also need to bear in mind that the factory stopped producing parts over 7 years ago! As for pollen filters, I managed to source a Genuine one in an MGR box for under £15 delivered, you just need to "shop smart" and if you have a PC, it's very easy to do! |

Its not Rimmers that dictate these prices - its xpart. Rimmers are just like any other xpart service agent, except they get more flak, because you can see the prices online!
FWIW, Rimmers offer a fantastic service, not always the cheapest, but id be lost without them over the years |

Saying that it seems to work ok and is good value. Never assume just because it is German then it must be good quality!! As many of us know it is the German components on our cars that are often the weak link. Ed. Last edited by capese21; 27th July 2012 at 08:44.. |

The original post makes me flaming same old story beat down the supplier.
You sir have absolutely no understanding about them at all. Without support from Rimmer and other classic car suppliers were are all up the creek paddleless. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/content-...0-year-history |

I think you will find most parts for the 75 / ZT are made in China as is the case for most manufacturers these days.
We are lucky really that SAIC continued to produce the MG7 as it is basically the 75 panel wise so new panels are available. As for the 2.5 KV6 ,engine parts still available via Landrover or the diesel engine, parts still available via BMW. I noted that some Rover badges I got recently were made in France but I think they were NOS (new old stock) Sadly alot of the replacement parts are not the quality of the original parts but I dont think that is just confined the Rovers / MGs as alot of makes replacement parts are not what they were quality wise. I found a company in Asia called Fiacom Pty Ltd who manufacture just about every part required for a range of cars including the Rover 75 but only sell parts in quantities-probably to the Rimmers etc of the world. |

Just thought that I'd point out to remember that loads of the replaceable parts on most cars are not nessessarily model specific, and also that I would guess that at least half of 75 parts were manufactured in other countries. |
