Trevor Denton's 'Beastie' is a similar conversion, as is badged as a 4500S. It's immensely subtle, but has been extensively modified mechanically. It's got a 5 speed LT77 manual box too!

The P5B Coupe is my personal choice of 'older' Rover but I really like the P6B Auto especially with the spare wheel on the bootlid (continental look)
Prefer the 3500 to 3500S as I like an Autobox.

It's a lovely engine, and I really liked it in the P5B, but at the time, insurance costs were prohibitive, and, at the end of the day, obtaining a P6B is a lot cheaper at the moment, though there does seem to be some indication of slight price rises in P6s.
This one has got the continental touring kit, as has my 2000, and it's very handy if you're going on holiday, and need as much bootspace as possible!
The 3500 is my preference too, and I really can't understand why the previous owner rebadged it as a 3500S?! Afterall, the only 3500S autos are the NADA cars! The auto box suits the engine really well, with all of that torque. I'm very much looking forward to making a start on it when I get home for the Easter holidays!

I had for a few years a French export P6.It was burnt grey with teledo red interior. Its auto box went and I converted it to a SD1 5speed.Made it an interesting car to drive.Its one car I really really regret selling.It had a lot of factory options including 14" chrome roystles .

I have to say that the idea of something like this with a 90s fuel injected TVR engine and gearbox really appeals. It can't weigh much more than 1000kg - 1200kg surely? With 280-300bhp that would certainly shift, in a straight line at least.

Beautiful car. It reminds me of the 2000 my Dad had when I was a boy. It was my first experience of Rovers, and I have been a devotee ever since.

The early P6s were very prone to rust, especially in the sills and boot floor. I hope those problems had been solved by the time yours was built.

I've got a 67 2000 too, and, from my experience of looking at P6s over the last few years, the later cars appear to be far more rot prone than the earlier ones. I must say that my 2000 will remain my favourite, though the V8 will be a welcome addition!

I always preferred the Mk I P6 as well, with the chrome grille and over-riders. I assume the black "honeycomb" grille and rubber-faced over-riders on the Mk II was an attempt to make the cars look more modern but, to my way of thinking, it was not an improvement!

Come to that, I feel the same way about the "face-lift" the R75 received, but I know some people feel differently.

Incidentally, when I first saw the R75, I thought the front-end styling with the twin headlamps was probably inspired by the P6, and also that the shaped recess for the rear number-plate may have been inspired by the P5, but that's only my theory. It would be interesting to know whether I was right.
