Don't think anyone has said anything on this thread yet about HGV's they're far more polluting than cars.
HGV's can't be battery powered the battery would be bigger than the truck. As previously said on an earlier post there isn't an electric vehicle at the moment that can tow a caravan never mind 20 tons of goods.
How's that going to work, I can see that they'll still be diesel powered while we will only have the option of electric cars like it or not

Exactly... I myself have enjoyed the conversations about the EV over these past few months, obviously we will know more as time goes by. In the next 5 years we will learn a wealth of information that will hopefully tell us more about what the future holds for the EV.

Ummmm not true, the Tesla Model S & X will quite happily pull a caravan and with 4wd and 700bhp probably with ease!

I think this thread is amusing, whether you like it or not electric is the future of motoring however if you don't like it you have at least another 20 years to sit in the corner supping a pint of bitter before being driven home in a car power by the black smelly stuff. As said I personally am looking forward to not having to visit a petrol station ever again from next year and am also looking forward to the extended coffee breaks that my new electric car will afford me
As for range anxiety I have that right now, tomorrow morning we'll fly back into the UK to collect a car which due to traffic I didn't have a chance to fill up and now has pretty much just vapour left in the tank. Thankfully the hybrid battery's pretty well charged so at least that should get me to a filling station so I can get my hands dirty putting diesel in the tank

Electric's not perfect but neither are petrol or diesel, we'll still have to make compromises, just different ones.

I think it's a prototype then, the road going version is about 3/4 years away.

Again, LPG or Hydrogen lorries / buses would have solved most of this years ago.

We went LPG after the war!

Mmm Tesla x tested on a 1000 mile trip pulling a light trailer on a test in Arizona took nearly half the journey time of 40 hrs charging (17.5 hrs)

Pulling a proper caravan instead it would have been a lot worse.

I too am quite relaxed about it, simply because it is not practical, not feasable and will not happen..

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
