Default Nearly new MG ZR

Do you think this car would of had the uprated head gasket fitted by the factory and the low level coolant sensor from the factory?.

No car ever came out of the plant with anything other than an elastomer gasket, and no it won't have a coolant level sensor, only MGTF and 45.ZS were fitted with those

My facelift 45 diesel saloon has an OEM level sensor in the expansion tank.

Why do you think MG Rover never fitted the low level coolant sensor to the ZR/25?

Low Coolant Sensor was fitted to 25/ZR towards the end of production.

Can retro fit the bottles and sensors easily enough, just need to make up a simple circuit

My 54 plate 2005MY Streetwise has one fitted. Car is based on the Rover 25. Maybe they introduced it as a last resort for the k series engines to avoid HGF?

I quite like the ZR's although I feel at 38 I'm a bit too old to carry off driving one now. My work used them as company cars for a bit and they were great fun.

Vanishing at a rate of knots now. The local scrapyard has stacks of ZRs and 25s in every time I'm passing. I guess 12 to 15 years is average lifespan for any car but I'll miss seeing MGR stuff on a daily basis in the years to come as the numbers shrink.

I'm 52 and only recently sold mine. Loved owning one. Age and rust is proving a major factor in using one everyday. They are not quite as good as the 45 and 75 for quality.
