When people speak of being green and making things last rather than replacing, perhaps they should remember to tell MS!
I agree with Steve, we have three laptops and a desk PC in our house which will not accept windows 11 so they will be used with windows 10 until we no longer get updates, then i will be moving over to Apple as you do not get these updates every six months and laptops become useless because of updates and i am informed right or wrong ? that apple are less likely to get viruses ?

This would be a great thread on the Technology Forum about windows 11 and how to enable etc

Hi Steve,

I'll post up some stuff on your new thread in the technology forum in the next few days.

My 2p-worth… don't be in a rush to install W11. I did because I was bored, and regret it, though I’ll live with it as Redmond iron the bugs out. On a virtually new Dell laptop, it’s buggy as {naughty word}. No advantages I can see over W10.

There again, anything after W7 was a downhill step as far as I’m concerned…

I've just checked when I did my i7 build, it was 6 years ago so older than I remembered. I've just upgraded to Win 11 with a very simple method. A tiny dll download which is dropped into the source folder on the Win 11 installation USB stick. I used a Rufus download to make the stick bootable and it is almost idiot proof. Everything working just as it should.

It was the first of the decent ones. OSR2 fixed all the problems, then 98 added some polish. W2000 was brilliant; VISTA {naughty word}; and, for me, W7 was the peak of perfection. Downhill since.
