I had borrowed my daughters Peugeot when my X Type was having another of its hissy fits. An oncoming car decided to cross into my lane to pass a group of cyclists. Thanks to my reaction she just put a small scratch and tiny dent on the flare of the rear wing. I would have been prepared to just polish out or touch up the paint but the other driver became aggressive and blamed me. I was driving 3rd party on my insurance, so I had to notify my insurers and daughters insurers. On their advice I claimed directly off the other drivers insurance, they took full responsibility and ended up paying for a bumper repair, wheel arch repair and hire car for a week.
My renewal about 3 weeks later wasn't affected.
