Default Can Anyone in Eastbourne help?

Hi all. I have a mate who has a ZT diesel who lives in Eastbourne. Her starter motor has failed, it looks to be the solenoid as it gives the single click on start. If it does start, it starts well and strong, no sign of the weak battery multiple clicks and headlight flashing.

She is a single mum and needs the car to get her disabled son from school. Does anyone live in the area who has either a recon starter or a spare repair kit she can buy and if they can fit, obviously that will be covered too. The car is currently outside her house and starts maybe 1 in 20 attempts which is a bit of an issue.

She's hoping to get a mobile guy out, no local garages can get her in for a few weeks and would probably charge a stupid amount for a new starter, I'd help, but I'm 200 miles away.

Thanks all for reading, please contact me on 07984 104975 on text if you can. Ta guys.

South Coast Garage Services in Eastbourne are Rover experienced, a couple of ex-mg rover main dealer mechanics.

Hi
I can recommend South Coast Services they sorted out a few problems on my 75.
Price was reasonable to.
For some reason however whenever I mention KV6 timing belts the workshop clears!!
Give them a buzz on 01323 734473.

I would imagine a garage will only want to fit either a new starter or recon one, not repair it with the £13.00 kit.

It may only be the spade that needs cleaning up with some scotch block ? another thing to let your friend to know is do not keep trying to start the car if it keeps flashing the lights as the battery can drain then you could get this.

There is a possibility for the transponder chip in the key to become corrupted as it can scramble the rolling code with that stored in the immobiliser. BY bigruss.
