Default Brake fluid topped up to top kills Brake Fault

A curiosity. Like most members here I suffer from the wretched BRAKE FAULT light coming on briefly on start up. However I have found that if I top up the fluid reservoir way beyond the MAX level - within a few mil of the top - then the light doesn't come on. Any ideas why chaps?

There is brake fluid level switch just above the base of the brake fluid reservoir.

Maybe the extra height you are adding makes it work, in which case the switch could be faulty, I do not know what type of switch it is.

Maybe just a coincidence. Wth the weather warming up there is less load on the battery during starting, so less of a voltage drop which can cause the spurious alarm.

Yep that makes sense. Looks a B . ... to change: looks like it's part of the reservoir but wires are well hidden - nowt on Haynes - Rimmers want £90+ - but one on eBay. Thanks.
