I had my bumper scuffed just before Christmas, parked way away from the main park too, no cars in sight when I went back to it. My dash cam picks up movement but it was the back bumper so it didn't capture anything

I will drive a bit more gently but at least none of us are paying several hundred £ a month on lease costs before it's even turned a wheel.
Electric cars have got to be the most attractive at the moment.

Mine is my only car and daily driver so I really can't do anything about it. I already try to join up shopping trips with my daily commute and if I need to visit several shops, plan the shortest route between them and visit them all on the same day.

I only normally do around 120 miles a week though so although I never like paying more for anything than I used to, I'm still only paying around £5 a week more for fuel than I was this time last year. I guess that if fuel got very much more expensive I could use my motorcycle more but the problem is that at my age, I ache for several days after riding it.

if prices keep rising, the X11 will be pressed into service, and thats not good at this time of year.

Wimp! I used a bike rain, snow and shine for years. When I arrived at work, home or whatever in deepest winter I'd be in agony as the feeling returned to my hands.

Do any of the Rover/MG's cut off fuel when running downhill. My 2005 Astra Cabriolet shows 999mpg running downhill. Just wondering since fuel prices are heading for £2/litre.

Not aesthetically they're not.

My diesel x type was also a little more frugal, managing an extra 3-4mpg overall. However, I found it to feel far more agricultural and noisy than my CDTi and although 5 years newer, far more finicky, less reliable with a harsher ride. When I took it to a garage for a replacement exhaust flexi they showed me the rot on the sills and subframe mountings and advised me to scrap it. Although I lost the car, I had never really enjoyed driving it.

Yep our EV is doing all the heavy lifting at the moment. By organising our trips out we're managing to do about 95% of all our driving in the ZS EV. In fact the X5 is now getting so little use that the other day I had to put the battery on charge as it was getting low. The ZT is off the road at the moment which has improved it's fuel economy and the Sterling is having its winter rest in a barn.
