I think you'll find that of the 50 so called trade agreements 99% are identical to the good ole-fashioned Pre-Brexit ones, with the exception of that with Australia which according to the NFU and others will go a good way to obliterating home produced beef and lamb, simply because someone "forgot" to include a good health standard for their livestock.

Germany of course exports three times as much as us to India, despite having no common language, culture or heritage that I'm aware of. India represents 1.7% of our trade exports and it's declined 3% while France to pick our nearest friend has increased trade by 58%.

Still I'm sure that our worthy PM will soon have us overtaking them, surely?

Who knows? And, starting from such a low level, it seems reasonable to assume it's an increasing prospect. The trading world outside these islands and Europe is now available after many years of EU restrictions. But let's not revive those hackneyed arguments!

See our BoJo is being criticised for trying to get a deal with India. Getting quite animated again on HYS, perhaps folks would be happier if any deals India negotiated were with Russia or even France?

Better still that very nice New Zealand PM, Jacinda Adern, seems quite content to cosy up to China, now that is a worry.

Bojo's trade deal with Australia seems to be of concern to some, not least to the NFU and the UK's farmers. Well we have a choice going forward; support your local farmers. I'm sure every UK farmer supported all facets of UK manufacturing. It's something I endeavour to do. My local piece of roast beef has remained at the same price for over 12 months. I'll not be changing.

Seconded. My early awakening to the joys of butchery was an awakening to the benefits and quality of English and Scottish beef/lamb/pork. The very best in the world. The green green grass... (just green, not fashionable faux green).

You are a very bad man - spoiling such positive story lines with facts.

In politics anything can happen, the impossible is possible.

Starmer with his designer hair cut and Corbynite suit looks the part, but will he be able to deliver the goods and tell no lies if elected.

The saying how do you know a politician is lying comes to mind, it's lips are moving.

Also when politicians aren't kissing babies, they are stealing their lollipops.

To quote Billy Connolly: “The desire to be a politician should bar you for life from ever becoming one. Don't vote. It just encourages them....”

It could be worse though, a lot worse:

Not very often I feel sorry for the French but they had a choice between Bob Hope and No Hope.

It seems they took the comedian. Again.

Bet Putin will be the first to call his best mate up and congratulate him.

Unlike the French we can get rid of a PM by democratic means mid term. Their President serves 5 years.
