Yep Windows Defender offers pretty good protection these days and is free. It's been a long, long time since I used third party anti-virus solutions.

Avast and AVG - hell no, too many issues over the years and those popup messages to install (then buy) their other offerings.

If you bank with Natwest you can have Malwarebytes Premium until May 2024.

Kaspersky is a good product and keeps quiet generally. We give plenty of info to the like of Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc and don't panic about those.

Bitdefender have a new free offering.

Avast free for sure. Never had a virus get through and only yesterday it blocked one. Kaspersky and Macafee (sorry Ian) have both locked up my PC. Norton is too intrusive and definitely slows things up.

Keep it Hush, Hush, about those agents.

Don't blow their cover or one of them might end up putting lead in your pencil.
