Default New Toy.....it's not a 75 or ZT!

It was my birthday the other day and Mrs Guru took me car shopping......after a couple of beers I ended up with this................

It's a Mercedes SLK 350, very low mileage and obviously has been looked after as there's not a mark on it inside or out! Haven't managed to do many miles so far however the power and noise are VERY addictive!

Jules's significant other has the AMG version.....lots of BHP, ideal for whizzing down to the nail salon

That's Jules taken care of, I don't know about Isabel perhaps she gets to drive it from time to time too

Almost the same as the SLK 320 I exported to my son in Germanyfor Christmas the year before last. Coals to Newcastle comes to mind. Fantastic car. Really enjoyed taking it over to him. The torque is really good at around 50 mph. Real kick in the seat of the pants, and 120 comes up very quick ( in Germany). I got 34 mpg to the gallon. Quite good for a 3.2 six cylinder. Since back in its homeland he has updated the lights and given it a tweet. My Grandson who did an apprenticeship at Mercedes in Germany said that the 3.2 engine is the best of the bunch. I personally like the 350 myself, but got to get the Aston first.

I'm still working up to the Aston

I'm hoping for good reliability, reading on the Mercedes forums there don't seem to be too many major problems with the 350 so I'm optimistic!

The SLK was my first choice of folding hardtop retirement present to self, as my daily drive (I have the 3wheeler for fun!), until Mrs B pointed out that when visiting family we'd have to use her Fabia as it has the necessary four seats.....

Hence my Volvo C70, a full 4seater, with legroom for real adults in the rear seats.

Maybe one day I'll get the SLK!

Very nice - those 3.5 V6 power units are powerful and make a nice sound.

I am currently in the "do I, don't I" mode over a CLK 320 CDI - the price is top-end for a 2009 car but it ticks all the boxes.

Mrs MSS keeps saying if you want it, get it and that just makes it harder. I am thinking about which of my cars I will sell if I do go for it as when we had 5 cars previously only three of them really got used.. The problem is, I am not sure I want to sell any of them!
