Default Thomas Hobbs

Just a small plug for Thomas.
What a lovely chap and a true professional at his trade.
Lots of photographic evidence of all his work
And all finished to a very high standard.
Even dropped me off at the tram station and collected me the following week
Well worth the 220 mile round trip
Thanks again for all you have done for me.
All the best Chris

Price will vary on the amount of work needed, alas this cannot always be determined until he has the car

I echo your very sentiments, I had my car sills repaired by Tom, and what a trooper.

Hi Chris.
Nice to hear you got it sorted by the master, when we spoke about it at the last Nano i have since found my NS sill needs sorting out but because he (Tom) is so busy i purchased the sill from him instead.

I have a mobile welder coming on the 18th and am keeping my fingers crossed he will do a good job of fitting it.

You are completely right Dave. My rear sill was just an advisory on the mot. So booked it in with Tom straight away. He gave me a rough estimate based on the photo I sent. But when he came to do the work all the jacking point support s on the front and rear had completely disappeared into a rusty dust. So all these had to be fabricated and welded in. He sent lots of photos to show me what should be done and sent photos every day with the progress. it was very labour intensive. With great attention to detail. I always jack the car up at the front and rear if I’m servicing the car but if I had used the jacking points the car would of collapsed. Next time my kids call in I will see if they can load some photos up.

Ref you mobile welder Steve. After seeing what it entails and you have a lovely car. Save your money and weld a quick patch over it and book in with Tom. He will credit your sill you bought and knock it off the bill.
I have more than 1 rover 75 and a ZT and will definitely be going to him in the future for more work. All the best Chris

Hi Chris.
I will do a little more digging into the sill and your advice sound good.

I have recently found this on my NS sill and have purchased the sill from Tom, and have a mobile welder coming on the 18th to fit it, i have my fingers crossed that his work is going to be ok.

After further investigation.

I think i may do a little more investigation tomorrow and maybe take the advice of Chris to book in with Tom.

I have time on my side as my MOT is not due until April 2023.

Hi Chris.
I am definitely going to follow your good advice, and contact Tom asap, did a little more prodding today, and it seem i may need the jacking pint looking at too.

Therefore the mobile welder will be cancelled as i doubt he will be able to deal with this, have not had good vibes from his replies either to be honest, mainly consist of (no worries)( to yes i can fit that for you)( date and price) i did try to get some sort of verse going to leads to short answers.

Photos of what a found today.
