Converting Seat Base to Memory

I've been looking at memory seats on ebay and wondering how big a job it is to swop over the seat covers, bolsters etc onto a memory base. Most the seats on ebay look pretty worn where as mine are still pretty good (only done 22k miles).
Has anyone had a go at this?
Is this a DIY job or more of a auto upholsterers job?

Just change the electrics, any motor that's not on your existing and the seat side part that holds the switches? Memory seats also have an ecu but I don't know if that will need a T4 session

Some years ago I put my ZT covers on some 75 Contemporay (they have the extra bolsters) memory seat bases. Fiddly, but perfectly possible to do at home.

Just plug and play. You dont need to connect to T4 (I only reprogrammed my car to recognise the seats with t4 in the last months or so, they worked fine for the decade before

)

Telling T4 they are there just menas you can diagnose it with T4, easy to add, and you don't need to fiddle with ZCS codes
