Roverron Tuning

I am seriously considering buying one of roverron tuning products. I know several of you on here speak highly of his tuning device.I am concerned that it may cause long term problems. What i have trouble understanding is,if it is possible to obtain such performance from the engine,why didn't rover/bmw sell the 75 with better performance in the first place.
Incidently i have the 131 CDTI engine in my 75. I would welcome your thoughts and experience with roverons product.

there are lots of reasons companys restrict cars..mostly for reliability and cost issues..not with the engine itself but other components around the vehicle, ie tyres may be rated to 120mph so why make the car do 130mph...etc etc...more speed = more cost....hth

The tuning box is a very good piece of kit, I have done around 25k in the past 5 months with it on with absolutly no adverse effects to the car. They de tuned the engine as BMW didnt want it to compete with their own cars too closely I beleive.
Im sure Ron will answer any questions you may have on his box, he's a nice bloke and very helpful.
I wouldnt be buying one for my new van if his kit wasnt as good a he says!

Taken from another tuners site (world reknown) I think it sums it up nicely.
I have had Rons box for nearly a year, and would not be without it now. After researching for 6 months the closest I could get to Ron's box was about £300 more expensive without the adjustability.:lol:

Why haven't the manufacturers done it?
When an engine in a mass produced vehicle is tuned, many compromises have to be made. The manufacturer has to allow for the engine being looked after in the worst possible way. Even if the car has not been serviced for months and poor quality fuel is used, the manufacturer has to make sure that there will not be any reliability or emission problems. Fuelling is often decreased to the point of destroying part-throttle driving in an attempt to improve fuel economy figures measured in accordance with Government testing procedures. Vehicle Manufacturers have some of the best Technicians and Engineers around - but they are working to goals that are different from ours and so the discerning driver loses out.
