Default Help Needed 2.5V6 engine Blown

Hi all.

I'm in a real mess as, my 2.5 v6 engine went on me big style last friday. The garage tells me that a piston has gone through the middle block. I was hoping that someone coild advise me on where to buy a good second hand engine.
Any help would be greatfully received.
Thanks
A VERY SAD MG DRIVER.

Try www.roverbreakers.com
Is it a 160 or 190?
Expect anywhere between £100 and > £1000 for an engine.
Also what mileage, interested to hear why and how it lead to a piston through the block?

Thanks for reply.
I've managed to locate engine at a cost of 1045.
I was driving to work, car going along at 75 (on Mway) all of a sudden big bang, smoke from exhaust and under hood.I didn't get any warning lights. The car had only done 56kand it's a 190+. my mate who's working on it,say's this sort of thing shouldn't happen to an engine like this, so it's a mystery as to why it has. The engine I have sourced has done 27k. I only bought the car in March,so I would like to know where I stand with the dealer as regards to whether they should stump up some cash to aid it being repaired.

make sure the engine you have is actually out of a 190 as some breakers sell the 160 or the rover 75 (177) power plants on as a 190

beofre you scrap your old engine too makje sure you keep your vis motors and manifold just in case
