I used some spare nozzles from silicone tubes. They can be cut down slightly with a hacksaw, and sealed with a touch of silicone. Put the narrower end into the rubber tube (which leads out through the wheel arch) and then the plastic drain pipe from the sunroof can be fed into the wider end. No purchases necessary... All fixed with junk from the garage.
As others have said, cut off the duck bills and ensure the drains flow freely. |

Some brands of standard garden hose fit perfectly.
Cut a bit of yours and try it

Thankyou for replys to my post in the end I used a barbed unequal connecter 16mm down to 12mm had to use a hot air gun on the smaller pipe from the sunroof but it certainly should not come adrift again!!

I have only ever seen my own car, so am not exactly an expert, but... I think the biggest problem is the duck-bill on the drain exit. If that didn't block with road muck, then the pipe wouldn't backup to the (admittedly poor) joins. I think if you can only do one thing, then cut the bills.
Although I sealed my joins, I imagine that one day the exits will block again, and I will see a leak into the roof lining rather than the carpet! |

Arctic, just read your post about doing the sunroof drain hoses, but all the photos aren't there any longer. If you have them still could you email them to me, [email protected] please? I have an estate 75 and drivers footwell wet after rain. So assuming it's not the lights (but will check), and drains under the bonnet are all good. Suspect it's the roof but want to know how to check without taking the whole car apart; or is that a given...?
Thanks for your help, lovely car apart from this. |

Hi Peter. They were stolen by Photo Bucket I am afraid, I am slowly working round each thread I have done with photo's but it will take me at least 6 months to a year to correct them all, what you need to do is lift the carpet to see how much water you have under it. Then you need to look in the far corner of the foot well about 12 inches up and you will see the connectors they need to be replaced with some new connectors. I would remove your email address otherwise it can be used for anything cheers Arctic.
