Help with parking sensors
I have these two errors re my parking sensors (which were working when I first got the car), and now seem to be not working. I get the 5 second long beep when first engaging reverse which the manual says is the fault warning.
The error description is relatively easy to understand, but based on the collective knowledge of this forum, are there things that are most likely to be the problem? Say, wiring first check? I assume this requires bumper removal? https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am0t-AWd3v4PmJVx...vhlXQ?e=eBsZcd Thanks, John Last edited by john116; 22nd November 2019 at 04:54.. Hi John.
Yes check the wiring loom behind the bumper, you maybe able to do this without removing the bumper, you need to check the wiring joints, these can and do get corroded, peel back the joint cover undo the joint and clean back to good wire, before re-fitting slide on some heat shrink to cover up the joint after. Another thing you can try before that is spray WD40 liberally on all the rear sensors on the bumper and wipe off after to clean the sensors this will drive out and moisture that may have got into the sensor, it really works

Mine did the same -sensors working (you can check this by engaging reverse gear with key at pos 2 and listen to the sensors - if they are OK they will be clicking worth checking i think a faulty sensor will also give the long error beep) - in the end it was the connector plug between the parking ECU loom and the sensor loom - corroded due to ingress of moisture.
